During a debate on adultery Senior Fellowship Church Pastor and founder Ed Young spoke on the topic sex and about its meaning in a marriage. His opponent in the debate was Noel Biderman, the founder of AshleyMadison.com. Biderman created a website that made it easier for married people to cheat on their spouses. Even though a marriage asks those who enter it to only commit to their partner he gives the explanation that cheating on a purely physical level can save a marriage. “At least here you have a community of like-minded adults who are aggregated together and everybody knows what they’re getting into,” he pointed out.

Ed Young on the other hand thinks differently about this issue and gives sex a deeper meaning than purely the physical part. It connects a couple on a deeper level and should only be practiced with one another. He calls out Biderman and lets him know that there is no room for adultery in a healthy marriage. “I want people to come away with, ‘Hey, God thought sex up. It was his idea and when we do it his way then the results can be incredible,” Ed Young explained. God has created sex as a gift and doing it his way is staying true to the one we promised to honor and respect for our whole life. Because if we like to share the bedroom with more people than our spouse why did we get married?

Having doubts is a natural part of faith. Although when it comes to leading a church and organizing as well as planning sermons there is no place for doubt. In Andy Stanley, and senior Fellowship Church pastor Ed Young’s book “Can We Do That?” various methods are discussed that will take a church ministry to another level. Particularly the youth of today requires more innovative and more creative ways to make them want to come to church. They are used to entertainment that keeps them excited for extended periods of time. They are also provided with a large variety of choices, which enables them to switch back and forth between entertainment outlets. Churches are therefore required to use strategies that have a large impact on current church members and the ministry.

To target this specific are Ed Young’s book covers twenty-four innovative ministry tools, which church ministries can adapt to reach out further to the community and to make their churches all God intends them to be. The strategies and tools are designed to be adapted to best meet the practices and the general style and program of the respective churches. Ed Young’s strong experience and the success of his church are indicators for the effectiveness of these practices.

Ed Young – Ignite Study Guide

In the Bible, God makes use of fire to show His power by using the lives of people. In his Ignite Study Guide Ed Young focuses on exploring this fire to ignite and fan the flames of our own belief and faith. We know how powerful fire can be. It can be destructive but it can also become a source of new life. Fire burns down trees, it wipes out villages, traps animals but it also creates life when it passes. Areas that were hit by fire have room and nutrients to recover and to offer new plants the opportunity to grow in rich soil.

Next to these universal perception of fire Ed Young tries to bring us closer to seeing fire as a force that purifies and refines. In his study guide he hopes to spark the fire in a small group study, which can ignite the flames of many. Below you may see the sections of the study guide that you are going to go through to reach the understanding of God’s power and what you can do to further foster his flames.

God’s plan for all of His followers is to be a leader of others in some way. Ed Young – The Table Study Guide

Ed Young - The Table Study GuideIn this study guide Ed Young teaches us the fundamentals of how to provide, prepare, share, and eat food. There are many places to choose from when we decide our food options. We can go to all kinds of restaurant providing us with food from all corners of the world. These options often blend with one another up to the point where we cannot distinguish between one and the other anymore. One Italian place might have been the next one and so forth. Senior Fellowship Church Pastor Ed Young brings to our attention that even though we have many options, one has and will always stand out from the rest. Jesus said in John 6:35, “I am the bread of life.” This means that the church is the most important and superior table where people come to feed on the “Bread of Life.”

It is the church’s responsibility to present God’s food creatively in order to serve seekers and to build believers. In this study guide Ed Young expresses the importance of serving others, of letting them know that there they are always going to find an open spot at the table, and of consuming a special meal to our purpose as Christ followers.
