Miriam

Miriam is the sister of Moses and Aaron in the Bible and she is the daughter of Amram and Jocheved.  She first appears in the Book of Exodus and she is called a prophetess.  She is believed to have written a victory song after Pharaoh’s army is drowned in the Red Sea. Many people are taught about the lesson of speaking badly from Miriam, since she was struck with a disease known as tzaraat after speaking badly of her brother.  She was quickly cured when Moses uttered five words of prayer asking G-d to make her well.
