Gaal

Gaal is a minor Biblical character whose story is told in the ninth chapter of the Biblical book of Judges. He is identified as the son of Ebed, who occupies the city of Shechem and then boasts to the city’s ruler, Zebul, that he could defeat Abimelech, son of King David. However, Zebul then warns Abimelech of Gaal’s plot, enabling Abimelech to defeat Gaal in battle. Zebul then expels Gaal and his supporters from Shechem. Gaal is not mentioned again in the Bible.
