Eve

Eve, also called the “Mother of Mankind,” was the first woman and second person in Creation, and she remains an important figure in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The Bible describes Eve’s being persuaded by the serpent in the Garden of Eden to eat the forbidden fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil; she than shares the fruit with her husband Adam. As a result, these first humans receive divine curses – Eve, and all women in the future, are sentenced to suffer in childbirth and childrearing – and the first couple is expelled from the Garden of Eden. Eve is the mother of Cain, Abel and Seth, the three sons of Adam.
