David King of Israel

King David was the second king of the united Kingdom of Israel according to the Hebrew Bible.  He was seen as being a righteous king, a strong warrior, a musician and a poet.  Many of the psalms in the Book of Psalms are said to have been written by David. David lived around 1040-970BC and his life has particular importance for Jews, and other Abrahamic faiths.
