Cain
According to the Bible, Cain and Abel are Adam and Eve’s two sons. Cain is mentioned, as well in the Qur’an and in the Greek New Testament. In all of these versions, Cain is a crop farmer and Abel, the younger brother, is a shepherd. Cain commits the first recorded murder, killing his brother after God rejects his offering of produce but accepts his brother’s animal sacrifices. Allusions to this story persist through many historical references, and Cain is seen as the representation of evil while Abel is seen as a martyr. After the murder, Cain is ordered to wander the earth in punishment, with a mark on him from God.
