Abraham
Abraham was originally named Abram, and his father was Terah. He was sent from his home in Haran to take possession of the land in Canaan. Once in Canaan, he entered into a covenant with God where God promised him that, through his offspring, all nations would come to be blessed. Many religions, including Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Bahai are sometimes referred to as “Abrahamic Religions” due to the role that Abraham plays in all of their holy books. Jews, Christians and Muslims all consider him to be the father of the people of Israel.
